DAR Nationwide Photo Contest

Rationale:

Men and women are equal partners in development. However, as partners to men — the roles, status, position and place of women alongside men are still lagging behind. It is true that there are already broad strokes of accomplishments by women in diverse fields. But on a nationwide scale, a larger section of rural women remain marginalized. The need to put a face on the struggle of women to highlight and recognize their participation, through this photo contest, is timely, appropriate and relevant as women all over the world review and count global efforts toward gender equality, peace and development for the next century.    IHcTDA

A picture speaks a thousand words and a thousand words puts across a statement, a message. See the action and hear the voices of women struggling towards genuine equality. JOIN THE DAR NATIONWIDE PHOTO CONTEST!

Objectives:

  • To highlight and recognize women as equal partners of men in development;  CETDHA
  • To show women participation in agrarian reform and rural development;
  • To promote and advocate efforts in DAR in mainstreaming gender in its policies, people, programs, projects and enabling mechanisms; and    AcICTS
  • To consolidate the forces of gender advocates in the agrarian reform sector.
